Latest Updates from Our Project:

Live TWIST Playthrough - Quick Update
almost 6 years ago – Fri, Jul 13, 2018 at 11:02:19 PM

Hey there Bushido backers!

Production is still humming along at the factory but in the meantime we've been starting to show off the game to some content creators. At Origins, we gave The Dice Tower a quick look at the game.

For Dice Tower Con though, we went to Twist Gaming and we were able to get a full playthrough of a match between the two hosts.

You can find it here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/281854366 at around 1 hour 42 minutes in. My hair looks like I just rolled out of bed! Pretty rough!

I know it's not the same as having the game in front of you, but hopefully it quells your hunger for the game just a little bit in the meantime.

Big Update - Bushido Sent to the Printer!
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Jun 26, 2018 at 11:38:50 PM

Hey there Bushido backers,

It's been a long time since we've checked in. Since last we spoke, we've been hard at work gathering new art for the game to make sure it absolutely shines and double and triple checking everything.

That leads to a big headline that you have been patiently waiting for.... We have finalized the print files for Bushido and are sending the game to the printer for manufacturing.

How it Looks

Before we get into what that means for delivery, a couple of things to show you. Below, we have a look at the technique cards. Some of these include the new art we commissioned for the game.

Next up, take a peek at the cover for the expansion, Bushido: Rising Rage. The fiery spirit of battle is the focus of this rage-inspiring cover.

So much rage!

Origins

In case you missed it, we were out at Origins showing off the game to some board game media folks, including BoardGameGeek (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LN36rXzXIJo) and the Dice Tower (https://youtu.be/sYORZzRQASw?t=7685). The copy we were presenting is substantially similar to the one you've seen on camera before, but hopefully the game getting some more love is a good thing long term!

Timing

With Bushido (and Rising Rage) now at the printer, we can now provide a better estimate on delivery time...

Our printer estimates it will take them about 45 days to make the game. When that's complete, it will be another 30 days or so for shipping. From there, we'll be working to fulfill the game to backers as soon as possible. Given those time estimates, sometime in late September or early October seems to be the best bet right now. Obviously, that can change based on all sorts of factors.

We apologize for the delays, but we're hoping today's news proves exciting!

Thanks,

Alex

New Cover - New Art - A Quick Update
about 6 years ago – Wed, May 02, 2018 at 12:40:29 AM

Hey there Bushido backers,

It had been about a month and I wanted to provide you all with an update on the art as that's the thing holding us back from going to print with this at the moment.

New Cover

We've given the cover of this game a little bit of an update. Hopefully this is giving things a bit more shelf appeal and will have players ready to go to battle before they even get the game open.

New Card Art

This is where most of the work has been occurring. Artist Naranbaatar Ganbold from Mongolia has created some pieces that fit well into the world of the game.

We don't have all the pieces we're looking for just yet from all artists, but rest assured that progress is being made.

We'll have a better update on ETA once this has gone to the printer.

Thanks for your patience and all the best!

Rulebooks Nearly Ready!
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 02, 2018 at 10:43:49 PM

Hey there Bushido backers,

Even while we await more art to be finished for this one, we've been hard at work finalizing rules. These have gone through several rounds of proofreading and we think they're just about there.... One thing we're missing, even more eyes!

If you'd like to help us iron things out, we've made both of the draft rulebooks available below...

Base game - ( https://www.greyfoxgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Bushido-Rulebook.compressed.pdf )

Rising Rage - ( https://www.greyfoxgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Bushido-Rising-Rage-Rules.compressed.pdf )

You can let us know if you find anything by sending us an email at [email protected] . That's also the perfect place for any other questions you have.

Thanks,

Alex

Artistic Differences (Literally)
about 6 years ago – Mon, Mar 26, 2018 at 05:22:21 PM

Hey there Bushido backers!

We wanted to provide you all with an update on where things stood with the game. As part of finalizing the rulebook and getting everything ready for print, we encountered a pretty significant issue. Below, I'm going to show you three pieces of art commissioned for the game, from three different artists:

Now any one of those three may appeal or not appeal to you depending on your tastes. The trick is that they are all supposed to be picturing techniques from the same school (Earth).

Now some variation in art isn't unusual for us.... we've had several work on Champions of Midgard. But in trying to build a cohesive world, having art this different within the same school (let alone the same game) is immersion-breaking. As a result of this, we're investing in more art for the game before we hit the print button. Below is a work in progress piece we've received from Naranbaatar Ganbold.

We don't know with 100% certainty how far back that pushes us as it's dependent on how quickly we can receive art, but it's very likely we'll miss our June 2018 estimated delivery date.

We appreciate your patience on this. We know delays are frustrating, but we want to make sure that we're putting out the absolute best possible game that we can.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
