Games on the Water - Christmas Race

Hey there Bushido backers,

A quick update on where fulfillment is at in regards to this project. 

US Fulfillment

After a lengthier time than expected obtaining confirmed space on a cargo ship, we have a booking and the games are finally making their way to the US. Our current estimated date to receive them is December 13th here in the US. That is only an estimate at this stage and it's very possible that there could still be some minor delays in the process on its way to our shores. 

We're hoping those are kept to a minimum however, because we very very much want this game to make it to your homes in time for Christmas. Your games will be fulfilled directly from our warehouse and we are already planning a nice packing party for when they're here so we're doing everything we can to get those games turned around quickly. We'll have more details for you as we get closer to that fulfillment time next month.

Australia/NZ Fulfillment

Your games will likely be able to be fulfilled slightly sooner or on a comparable timeline to US copies. That's because they are on the same boat as another project of ours, City of Gears, due to hit port in Adelaide on December 9th. When our fulfillment partner there has the games in hand, we'll let you know here.

Other Regions

We don't have good information for other regions at this stage, including Europe and Canada. It is very likely those copies will not arrive to you until early 2019. When we have more specific information on each individual region, we'll pass it along.

That's all for now. As a wrap up to this, we again apologize for the delays on this project. It has taken far longer to produce and to fulfill than we expected and there's little we can do at this stage other than apologize for that and do what we can to get the games into your hands as quickly as we can.

Bushido remains my personal favorite of all the games Grey Fox Games has ever made and this project is especially important to me. We're excited for all of you to finally get a chance to play it.

Manufacturing COMPLETE - Logistics Update

Hey there Bushido backers,

Some good news to share with you! 

Production COMPLETE

After some unfortunate delays and a lot of hand wringing on our end, we have been informed by the manufacturer that production has finally wrapped on Bushido and those games are ready to go. So that means we're now moving into....

Fulfillment

Now that the games have been made, we'll be working to get them to you as quickly as possible. We're currently in the process of arranging cargo shipping for this order. Generally, it takes about 4-5 weeks for water shipments to make it from China to US shores. From there, it should be another couple of weeks to get the games into US backer's hands. That puts us around late November to early December.

International fulfillment is still being coordinated and we should have more details on that in the next week or so, including a more specific timeline.

Production Update

Hey Bushido backers,

It's been a little while since you've heard from us. That's because we've been involved in a bit of a frustrating back and forth with the manufacturer of this game, Boda Board Game.

The estimated completion date was September 18th... then it was pushed back to the 28th... then, late Friday, we heard that the plastic suppliers for that manufacturer were having issues providing the required materials. That has delayed both this game and others there that are currently in production. The new estimate provided from them is now October 7th.

As you can imagine, we are incredibly frustrated by these delays and know you are as well. At this stage, we don't have much recourse other than taking this experience into account when choosing manufacturers in the future and we can't do much other than apologize for the delay. 

When we have further updates, we'll be sure to let you know.

Estimated Completion Date - Lockdown Date

Hey Bushido backers,

We've got some better news and information for you on the manufacturing of Bushido.

Estimated Completion Date

Our printer has informed us that Sept. 18th is their estimated finish date for Bushido, a little less than two weeks from now. It's obviously longer than we were hoping for, but we're happy to have something more concrete on this front.

Survey Lockdown Date

With that information in hand, we're going to be locking down surveys on Sept. 12 at 11 AM EST.

At this stage only 26 backers haven't filled out surveys and the vast majority of those were those who pledged a dollar or two to support the campaign and we don't need shipping info for.

The bigger factor for most of you is the heads up that this is also the date we'll be charging cards for add-ons. This occasionally causes confusion with some folks because of the gap between when they fill out surveys and add-on games and when the charge comes in. We don't charge for add-ons until the games themselves are closer to being completed.

Manufacturing Update - Timelines

Hey there Bushido backers,

It's been too long since we've had an update for you, but it's been more than enough time, even if we don't have much to share.

There have been some delays with the printer we're using for this game and communication has been, to put it mildly, unusually slow, especially as we've made adjustments to files being used to produce Bushido and the expansion.

We are expecting to receive the digital proofs for this game within the week. That will be a key step towards giving the printer the green light to go ahead. When we have those in hand, we'll share another update. Our hope is to have some more answers on estimated completion date and timing of fulfillment by that time.

Sorry it isn't better news at this stage, but no news for this long isn't acceptable in our book either.
